The 2022 Kona gas variant is available with one of two powertrains: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Atkinson engine that cranks out 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque or the N Line and Limited’s 1.6-liter four-cylinder direct-injected turbocharged engine that channels 195 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque through a retuned seven-speed EcoShift® dual-clutch transmission.
If you go the 2022 Kona Electric route, you will get a 150 kW permanent-magnet synchronous electric motor with a high-voltage 64 kWh lithium-ion battery, good for 201 horsepower and 291 lb-ft of torque. Hyundai estimates a charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 47 minutes or from 10 percent to 100 percent in 9 hours and 15 minutes.

Both the 2022 Hyundai Kona and the 2022 Hyundai Kona Electric come with available Hyundai SmartSense safety features.
